The Common Cup, opened in 2007, is a non-profit coffeehouse located in Ann Arbor on Washtenaw Ave., in the basement of University Lutheran Chapel. We are located just off of the University of Michigan Central Campus.
We pride ourselves on our quality products, cozy space, and local engagement. In addition to that, we also offer:

Our Menu
We are a coffee shop dedicated to offering exceptional classic coffee drinks while also catering to those who may prefer alternatives to coffee. Our espresso selection features lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, Americanos, and more, alongside our drip coffee and pour-over options for dedicated coffee lovers. In addition to our coffee offerings, we provide a range of high-quality teas, refreshing smoothies, Italian sodas, and delicious chai, ensuring that there is something delightful for everyone to enjoy.
In addition to beverages, we also offer various baked good options from local bakeries!

If you’re a local artist (or group of artists) and have a body of work you want to share, fill out the form below to submit yourself for consideration. The gallery’s calendar books about a year in advance, so please be aware of that when you inquire.
Luke Van Noord
ARTISTS’ STATEMENT
Luke Van Noord is currently a Junior studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan, where he also spent two years as the president of the Michigan Photography Club and enjoys working as a lab assistant in the darkroom on campus. Originally from Dexter, Michigan, Luke’s interest in photography started junior year when he found an old 35mm Canon SLR belonging to his dad. A few rolls of film later, and he was hooked. As well as using digital cameras he enjoys shooting on almost all formats of film, and developing and printing photographs. His work spans many mediums and genres of photography, but predominantly fits into the genres of contemporary landscape and documentary photography. In particular he is inspired by the New Topographics movement, and a variety of contemporary photographers, such as Kyle McDougall and Todd Hido.
Thematically, Luke is captivated by finding subtle beauty in seemingly normal scenes. He loves exploring new locations and documenting the culture and emotion of places in the medium of photographs. He is continually in awe of God’s beauty and creativity as expressed in His creation, and hopes that you experience that through these photos. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” Psalm 24:1
