As We Wait

Junk Drawer Jesus

February 22 – April 3, 2026

In the summary for the book this sermon series is based on, Matt Popovits writes, We each carry a random collection of religious ideas and spiritual influences. And as with that stash of old phone chargers, empty pens, and half-used batteries sitting in your kitchen drawer, something in us says, “I might need this.” And so we hold on. But should we? For many, this junk drawer spirituality has become burdensome. As we launch into a new year, it is our hope at ULC to remove this burden and declutter our “spiritual junk drawer,” and grab hold of the one truth in which we might find life and peace…the grace of Jesus Christ. Join us for the sermon series and community group book study!
