As We Wait

Acts, Vol. 1

May 17 – August 23, 2026

The theologian E.J. Godspeed said of the book of Acts, “A bewildering range of scenes and of actions (and of speeches) passes before the eye of the historian. And in all of them he sees the providential hand that has made and guided this great movement for the salvation of mankind.” As we study the Acts of the Apostles, it is easy to get caught up in the events, conflicts, and politics at play and forget the true purpose behind these events: the divinely ordered and Spirit empowered announcement of salvation in Jesus alone. Just as this purpose guided the actions of the first Christians, we return to Acts to consider how God continues to work in our midst to make his salvation known.
