The church is not a building. The church is not a steeple. The church is not a resting place. The church is a people! I am the church. You are the church. We are the church together. All who follow Jesus, all around the world, we are the church together. If you grew up in church you may recognize these words from a song that is often taught to children. It’s a great message for kids, and it remains an important message for us to reflect on as God’s people. What does it mean for us to be the church? Why does the church matter?
