Super Sunday in Ann Arbor

What is Super Sunday in Ann Arbor?

What

For all of ULC to invite UM and all of Ann Arbor to worship with us at one place, at one time, for one Sunday on UM’s Campus.

When

Super Sunday, February 8, 2026 // 10:45a

Where

Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre // 911 N University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109

Who

The Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre seats 600 people, ULC worships about 300 people a Sunday, our goal is to fill the theatre!

Why

There are four reasons for hosting Super Sunday in Ann Arbor (SSAA).
1. We are a campus ministry that seeks to reach students at UM. This is an opportunity to invite students to worship with us in a new way, while reducing the friction of entering ULC. Instead, we come to them.
2. Our most convenient worship time (9:45a) is almost always completely full. This makes it difficult to invite folks to worship with us. This event gives ULC residents the opportunity to help cultivate a culture of invitation at ULC as they invite friends and family to join us for this special event.
3. We never get to worship together as one congregation. This will be an awesome opportunity to all be together as God’s people and celebrate his presence among us.
4. In trying something new, we open ourselves up to other opportunities. Perhaps we do this every year?

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I park?

The Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre is approximately a 15 minute walk from ULC, so parking at ULC is an option if you want a Sunday morning walk! If you’re looking for something a little closer, we recommend the School of Dentistry parking structure across the street from the theatre. Street parking in Ann Arbor is free on Sundays, so there are limited spots around the theatre as well.

Where should I enter the theatre?

The main entrance for the Mendelssohn Theatre is at the Northwest corner of the building and is the most direct way into the theatre. Just look for the theatre marquee! The theatre is on the North end of the Michigan League, so you can enter the building from any of its entrances and we will have volunteers and signs pointing you in the right direction!

Will there be Bible Studies/Sunday School/Kids’ Word/Nursery?

Our normal Sunday Studies hour which includes Sunday School and Bible Studies for all ages will take a week off on February 8. We will not be offering Kids’ Word or Nursery during the gathering, but we encourage you to bring your family beforehand to the Kalamazoo Room where we’ll have some fun family activities around 9:45-10:45a!

Will there be food/meals?

We will be offering coffee and a continental breakfast in the Kalamazoo Room adjacent to the the theater starting at 9:45a. Food and drink cannot enter the theatre, so make sure to come early or stay after and join in on the community in the Kalamazoo room!
